I wrote this song over a period of about a week, and it was as I was going through one of my deep self-querying phases. It seems sometimes you can go too deep too fast, and you get left with a premature emptyness, that just sits on you for a while... It sounds terrible, but it is another facet of this existence, and it is quite fascinating, as it ALL is, which is what this song reflects also. Here's what it took to release all that...

The "What am I doing here" flowing 3 part harmony was really an afterthought, and I think it made the tune. Funny how unplanned happenings can change so much. ;-)

Take it to the edge...

Why - is everything I see - revolving around me - left me feeling so alone now
Life - was always on my side - but since I've tried to hide - somethings clicked from way inside me

I don't know what this life is asking for,
but it's AMAZING that I'm still BREATHING
I go inside myself a little deeper every day,
you know it's FRIGHTENING, yet so ENLIGHTENING

as I dig a little deeper to the depths of my soul
inclined to find rhyme within me...

What am I doin' here?
What am I doin' here?

Blind - to everything that's real - but since I've learned to feel - brilliance lights up all I see now
A point - peering from my mind - erases fear of time - and points me to eternity

I still don't know what this life is asking for
but it's so AMAZING that we're all BREATHING
Go inside yourself a little deeper every day
you'll find it's FRIGHTENING, but so ENLIGHTENING

take a little time of each and every day
to try to find the divine within you...

(Chorus)
